| "We have been home for about a month and a half now and I am still taken with the simplicity of the island. This vacation was the best and will be hard to top. The slow pace of life, no cars, no real noise like we hear every day made this so relaxing. I am always asked where is the best place that I have been and my answer has always been, no where as they are all so different, but now I can honestly say that Fiji was and is my favorite place to go. I love to interact with the sealife and really got a charge out of playing with a clownfish. I just laid my hand down and eventually they came and laid in my had as if I was an anemone. The sealife there was all and more than I had dreamed of. The sea life was incredible, from the small nudibrach to the very large spanish dancer nudibrach, the blue ribbon eels to all the soft corals - truly amazing. We came home very relaxed to say the least. We had a chance to visit 3 of the villages while there and it was so heartwarming to see people truly happy and have very little but have so much. The days that are so stressful here at home, I just think back to the villages and the people of Beqa and am so glad to have had the opportunity to meet such gracious people. I loved everything that we encountered during our week there and can\'t wait to go back to the simple way of life in Beqa. Thanks to Mark and Sue for having such wonderful people working for them, their staff always had a smile and were laughing and would go out of their way to make things great for us. The dive staff was unbeatable. Thanks for making life so relaxing even though it was only for a week. We will be back." |

| "Dear Mark & Sue:
Just completed a DVD slide show on my underwater as well as resort experiences at Beqa Lagoon Resort last year. Its a hit with everyone who has seen it so far, and many have expressed a real interest in visiting. In my book, you have a five star plus operation. I hope to return soon. Thanks again for a wonderful experience.

| "Bega Lagoon Resort Fiji was the best vacation I have ever experienced. The best staff, that soon became the best friends. Amazing scenery making all my pictures portrait beautiful. And diving superb so says my husband; as for me the snorkeling was some of the best I have ever done especially the home shore snorkeling. My husband says I have not stopped talking about my vacation and we have been home nearly two weeks. I guess I'm just like a little kid who just experienced Disney Land because Bega Lagoon Resort was absolute Heaven on Earth. And for anyone about to visit I definately recommend visiting the local Villages as the people especially the children are so heart warming and sincere. All my love to Bega Resort, the staff, and the surrounding villages. " |

The diving is breath taking and the dive masters are very helpful. The accommodation, service and food were the best we ever encountered at any dive resort. Vinaka!" |

| "Our experience at the Beqa Lagoon Resort from 19 - 26 September 2009 was in one word, simply "breathtaking". Mark and Sue Propert, our hosts at the Resort deserve the utmost in accolades and respect for delivering what was truly a world-class experience by any measure. From the time we were ankle-deep in Beqa's waters arriving on the beach to the time we said farewell Mark, Sue and their land/diving team delivered an experience we have yet to have matched during any of our extensive stays at resorts world-wide. The diving was great considering we were transitioning out of Fiji's winter season into more warmer weather. Some light chop but other than that it was spectacular all the way around. The accomodations were first class for a dive resort, the staff were extremely attentive, courteous and bent over backwards to ensure our experience was top notch. In addition to the diving the local village offered a wonderful excursion to experience the culture and local customs first hand. Fire walkers, waterfall tours, a trip to the village to visit local school children and nightly musical entertainment from the local villagers were exceptional. We still rave at every opportunity to family, friends, and fellow divers about our experience in Beqa. I still have the screen saver showing Beqa lagoon on my office computer. I doubt I will remove it any time soon. We are definitely "hooked" on Beqa, would recommend it to all and definitely look forward to the next time we dip our toes in the water and experience the hospitality of Beqa Lagoon Resort. Thank you Mark and Sue for the experience of a lifetime!!" |

| "Just returned from a great stay despite some rain and winds and cold water. Water temps were a constant 77 degrees so you need to dress for it. That was hard information to get so I thought I would pass it on. Trip dates Oct 10-17 2010.
The people at the resort were wonderful! Beqa was nice and food good. I heard the snorkeling in front of the hotel was fabulous but didnt have time to do that. Heard the school trip was great but was diving and wished I had gone. Had music everynight in the dining room and some entertainment as well from the locals. Loved the last night when the adults and children from the village came to dance and sing for us.
Our group brought alot of things to them but let me make some suggestion for easy carry on to them: bras (new or used they dont care)and flip flops. Talk to the ladies that clean your room or the front desk to see how you want to distribute them. The christmas fund is distributed according to senority we were told also so we gave to it and then to some other we wanted to tip personally. Dive crew was very helpful but I have to say everyone was.
We had a group of 45 so I saw all kinds of rooms and none were bad. I really loved the koi pond room the best with its beautiful bed and wood carvings. The 2 bedroom units were so spacious and had a great view of the ocean. Our OF bure was nice but we dove all the time and honestly didnt use the view much or the pool. So all the rooms are great. We stayed in bure 1 because I was scared it might be noisy and didnt want anyone to have that problem but it was actually not. It was just far enough from the pool area that you didnt hear people talking. You did hear some tanks clanging in the am but we had to get up anyway!
We did afternoon dives as well as morning and it took up alot of our time and dont think I would do that again...I think I missed out on resting and local culture that I would have enjoyed. ALL in ALL its was a wonderful trip and would do it again! " |

| "We hosted our 3rd trip to Beqa and everything was as AWESOME as the first. Tha staff members from the island are so accomodating in every way all of our expectations were met. We wish to thank Delana, Misy and crew for the exceptional diving, we all were well cared for. Also all of the kitchen and dining staff prepared and served our excellent food as though we were in a 5 Star Restraunt. Everything was very relaxing for our non divers who enjoyed the awesome snorkeling within yards of the beach.... they even saw a shark while snorkeling. The entertainment every day and night was very informational with their culture and the love they express to everyone. My wife and I each had 2 massages from Va and Teri and it was very relaxing. I especially wish to express my thanks to Iziac ( may be mispelled) who when we exited the airplane took very good care of us and any special needs to Pacific Harbor and also on the return to the airport was very helpful in assisting everyone in their special needs to the airport, to intersept a liveaboard and to go down town shopping. There are many others I know that I may not have mentioned and I apologize as everyone did their very best to assist us in a memorable experience. We look forward to our next relaxing and enjoyable vacation to Beqa Lagoon!!!!" |

| "Bula!
We visited Beqa Lagoon resort on January 3 and stayed until January 10, 2009.
This was probably the best vacation we have ever had.
I cannot say enough about how wonderful the staff is!!!!
The FOOD!!! WOW!!!!! I am severely allergic to onions (including onion powder) and, as a result, I usually am served bland, tasteless food. That was not the case at Beqa Lagoon resort. The chef prepared my food without onion, but was talented enough to make my dishes just as delicious as all the other dishes. Everyone raved about the food!
The dive staff was excellent! They were knowledgeable and entertaining. We enjoyed the reefs very much. The visibility was not at it's best while we were there because of the storm, but the dives were still wonderful. Some of these reefs are the most beautiful I have ever seen. We were a group of 20 experienced divers who have traveled around the world. The dive staff recognized our skill level and were very accommodating.
Our bure had a private backyard that faced the ocean. We had a private hammock and a small, shallow pool was on our deck. There were two beds and a sitting room, along with a private bath. There was also a safe in the room (although I can't imagine anyone on this staff being dishonest!) It was very comfortable and welcoming. It was expertly cleaned and smelled nice. (I have had the unfortunate experience of staying in ocean-side rooms that smell stale, wet, and moldy. Not in Beqa!)
My husband had a massage and still talks about how wonderful it was. Va was fantastic.
The highlight of our visit has to be the villagers - Wise in particular. He took me to the school, the waterfall, the villages. He explained many native rites and customs - firewalking, coconut weaving and usefulness, cooking, etc. I felt very welcome and comfortable with the natives. We very much enjoyed the Bula Band, the native singers, and the dances.
There are activities planned for every afternoon. These are great opportunities to learn about the locals. You can choose to bask in the native culture, or you can snorkel, shore dive, or just hang out.
One of the activities is a hike to the waterfall. This is not an easy hike. The terrain is steep, rocky, and sometimes wet. We crossed flowing water over wet rocks, and had to use a rope to ascend at one point. The waterfall is not as impressive as I thought it would be. It is beautiful, but it is smaller than I thought (I was expecting something like I saw in Hawaii), and the pool under it is small. The local story of firewalking originated in this pool (I think.) The experienced hikers seemed to really enjoy the hike. I am a couch-potato and had a difficult time of it. The views are beautiful, the native guide informative, and the walk down was much easier; so, if you are also a couch-potato, you will have to decide for yourself whether or not to try this hike.
When you go, and you should, take candy for the villagers. (The children are taught to not ask for candy, but they are really cute and you will want to give them something when you see their little faces. The adults really enjoy the treats, also. The villagers don't have disposable income to buy candy and such.) They really like Tootsie rolls, Tootsie roll pops, etc. They also enjoyed peanut butter crackers, power bars, trail mix, and anything else we offered them. If you can, you should also take something for the village schools. Pencils, paper, colorful books, software, and any other learning aids you can find. (The Fijian government gives them very little funding.)
A storm rolled in the night before we left. We were ferried off the island in 6 foot seas. Dangerous conditions were present while transferring from the launch to the boat. The crew heroically risked their safety and made sure we all boarded safely. The crew is quite impressive.
We were unable to reach the airport on January 10, 2009, due to severe flooding in Fiji. We were re-routed to the Outrigger resort (a 5-star resort) for two days. They were not as impressive as Beqa Lagoon resort. The rooms were nice, and they did what they could for us; they just were not at the same level as Beqa.
Mark has a wonderful group of people who are doing a fantastic job.
We can't wait to return!" |

Just returned from Beqa Lagoon Resort with a group of 24 from Fort Worth, TX. It was a one of the greatest dive trips we have ever made. The resort was lovely, the people so helpful and friendly, the food superb, and the diving outstanding. The weather could have been better with not so much rain, but we had a fabulous trip inspite of the rain. My first time to the South Pacific and to Fiji, a place I have wanted to visit for a long time. I hope to return to Beqa again some day. Thanks for a lovely stay on the island in the sun." |

| "Thanks for making our dive vacation so special. We loved diving with you, and loved talking with Joelli. The staff is really special--knowing our names and being so nice all of the time. It is really wonderful to talk to the people who live in another country to see how they live, and how they think about global issues. Although the water visibility wasn\\\'t the best, we loved seeing the variety of animals. And the shark dive was superb.
Thanks also to the people on the island, those in Ravi Ravi and Rukua. It was great to talk to the villagers, seeing pandanus mats made and how kava plants are cut up and processed." |

I know that the food will be the best, our bure wonderful, the snorkeling and diving perfect, the school children endearing, the sights and sounds memorable, the staff fabulous and the whole expereince a "once in a life time." In our case, 3 times in a life time! I never dreamed that one place would draw me back again and again, but it has. " |

| "My husband and I travelled to Fiji on our honeymoon in May and decided to split our time between Beqa Lagoon Resort and Qamea. Unfortunately, there was bad weather when we tried to leave the east coast of the U.S. and we ended up missing our flight to Fiji. We arrived a day late and had to cut our stay to only 3 nights. However, we packed some great diving in and we will always remember the shark dive. The oceanfront bure was incredibly spacious and the private backyard and plunge pool with a hammock was very luxurious. We had a massage under the stars in our backyard and the staff goes above and beyond to help you. Because we could not go on the organized tours since we were diving, an employee offered to give us a private tour of the village and that meant a lot to us. The food was the best we had in Fiji. We will be back for an anniversary! Thank you Beqa Lagoon for making our honeymoon special." |

The diving is absolutely phenomenal and the divemasters and boat crew were always accomodating. The staff made onshore activities exciting and enjoyable and the meals were truly 5 star experiences. Bula and Vinaka to Wise, Joe, Joeli and the rest of the dive and resort staff for making this a special occassion. The resort staff and management went out of their way to make sure we had a pleasant experience and we are truly happy to have picked Beqa Lagoon Resort to commemorate such a special occasion for us." |

| "Thanks for a fantastic holiday. When you've not had a recommendation from friends, but book via the internet you can never be that sure how things will turn out. But we had a lovely time, and our expectations were constantly exceeded. The staff were great - fantastic with our kids (Seaton, Elise and Millar) and very helpful, the food was perfect, and we were grateful to have meal times adjusted to suit the kids. The pool was really suitable for the kids (and despite the resort being full we had it to ourselves most of the time!), and the snorkelling was amazing. We hope to come back. Bula to Wise and Vena who were very good to us, and to the Martin family." |

| "After we were over the shock at being lucky enough to have found such a beautiful resort with good food and great people!
We played like seals, in the water for 7 days straight!
("Art! Art! Art ")
The diving was the best in 30 years.
The island was beautiful and tropical.
The natives were the best of any people I've ever met world wide.
The kitchen staff was accommodating and friendly and very warm.
The dive staff was the best hands down I’ve ever been diving with!
I can't give this resort enough credit for its friendly staffing.
So I won't waste any words because it would take away from the excellent service they offered every day.
Two thumbs up
Mark can I live there for the rest of my life? “Joe”
Dive masters were so attentive, helpful, and thoughtful and a real joy to be around. They were the most professional in the world.

They are just an incredible bunch of friendly people who always accommodated my (sometimes wacky) requests with a smile and great speed and finesse. Teri's massages were fabulous. And the diving has never been so effortless. Dix, Joeli, Seta, Misi, Netava and the rest made it so easy despite my "infirmity"!
Thanks again!" |

My husband is a police officer and I am a teacher... so the local culture and kindness was a breath of fresh air. My husband is now slowly learning how to swim and ready to take Mark up on his offer for some scuba diving! We are excited to plan another trip to come back. Mark and Sue, are you still GM's? Mark and Sue did an excellent job making sure our stay was good. Lulu made every meal a delight and our dive masters, Seru and Missy made each dive an awesome adventure. We dove off the Tradition with a small group of 9 to 12 divers each day. We hope to stay in touch with all of them. A special group we were! The people of Bega Island were the stars of the show. Wise was a perfect host to all the native expirences and made us feel welcome. Let me just say that everything during our week on Beqa Lagoon Resort was the best (service, activities, food, diving facilities), and wish we had spent both weeks there.
Seeing the pictures was good, and brought back many memories. Am planning to come back again with my now larger family.

Mark and Sue did a wonderful job with management. Very friendly staff, always eager to please and go the second mile. Bulou at the office - so friendly and efficient. Our guide to the school and village, Wise, the best. Our friendly and meticulous friends, Litia and Siteri, who kept our Bure #14 in tip top shape. The gourmet cuisine is something Emeril and everyone in FoodNetwork should experience. From the staff who maintained the well-kept grounds, to everyone who served in the main bure - what an experience!! My husband thoroughly enjoyed his diving experience. Thanks for all the lovely entertainment ... the Bula Band, the Choir, the dances on our last night there. I could go on and on. WE WILL RETURN! WE WILL STAY IN TOUCH. VINAKA. SOTA TALE." |

HI,
We just returned from the best diving vacation we ever had. We were there with Summit Divers and stayed in bure #11. Never have we felt so warmly welcomed, from the beach greeting to our final farewell. The entire staff were so friendly we felt like we had known each other a long time. Also I cannot say enough about the food. Every meal was anxiously looked forward to, and we were never disappointed. A truly super vacation, always to be remembered, looking to the time that we will meet again.
One thing I feel bad about was the fact that I had failed to leave a donation for the staff's Christmas fund. Could you e-mail me the best way to sent the donation. My e-mail address is scubawally@aol.com . Also I may have missed packing my dive boots. If they were left there would it be possible to have them shipped back to me and if so what would the cost be?
Thanks again for being a great host at a wonderful diving resort.

| "To whom it may concern,
In the first part of August this year (2007) my wife, myself and two
friends spent eleven nights at Beqa Lagoon Resort, Fiji.
The accommodation was extremely comfortable, the grounds were always
well kept, the restaurant and bar were first class. The activities,
including the diving were conducted in a manner that I could not fault. They
were safe, entertaining and fun.
I cannot praise the efforts of management and staff enough to make
our stay enjoyable. Nothing it seemed was to much trouble, no request to big
or small.

| "My son, Jamie< and I spent an enchanted week at the Marlin Bay in 2003. We went scuba diving every morning, Jamie went surfing every afternoon. In the evening we socialized with all of the other guests, made new friends, and will always remember Fiji. WE all hope to return, this time with the whole family! I recommend this to anyone and everyone. // Kris Qureshi Garden City, N.Y. " |

| "We spent a marvelous week at Beqa Lagoon in October. The resort and diving were both spectacular and the cuisine far exceeded our expectations- everything was top-notch. We stayed in a second resort in the Mamanuca group later and it utterly paled in comparison to Beqa. If you want serenity, pristine reefs and very few people around, I recommend Beqa. If you like crowded divesites, go to Castaway." |

| "We were fortunate enough to have our honeymoon at Marlin Bay in May of 2004. It exceeded our expectations on all fronts. The best vacation ever and not just because it was our honeymoon. My husband and I were concerned that the new owners would change things and the place would loose its specialness. The recent comments assure me that Bequ Lagoon Resort is still a place that I hope to someday return to." |

| "We (all 22 of us) were lucky enough to stay with you in June of 2005. You exceeded my expectations in all areas. My group had the time of their lives. Even after living and diving in Fiji for a year, I was amazed with the diving, the food, your resort and of course by the most friendly people in the world.
Our trip to the school to give school supplies will stick in my memory for ever. It is amazing how appreciative all of the children were for pencils, erasers, rulers, crayons, paper and other supplies. Its all about the smiles.
Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy Beqa above and below the water." |

You got to have the handcut potato chips. My stay there was the best I have ever experienced, even though the resort was under renovation, Bega Lagoon resort should be listed as the Best in Fiji. I WILL RETURN..!!" |

| "I have been to Marlin Bay many times, and now to Beqa Lagoon Resort. I am pleased and impressed that not only have you kept the resort’s original high standards, but you have managed to make some substantial improvements! The koi pond bures and gardens are beautiful, and all of the new plans for the resorts future are fantastic. I was pleased to see Bulou again, and it’s nice to see that she has everything under control in the office... The rest of the staff are great, too. Also much appreciated was the gourmet cuisine – I can see that some of Christian’s dessert recipes continue to be popular. Keep up the good work. I look forward to my next visit!" |
